In Islam Importance of Prayers

Many Muslims don’t pray or observe the decorum of prayers despite the importance. The purpose of prayers is to improve the relationship with the Almighty Allah and show compassion for all His blessings and to remind yourself of His Glory. Just like the body requires physical maintenance like food and water the soul requires spiritual support that is provided by the prayers. Many times it is observed that the body of the person is in good condition, but he or she is not spiritually pious.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The comparison of one who remembers Allah and one who does not, is like that of the living and the dead.

Allah says,

O you who believe! Respond to (the call of) Allah and His Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life.

Direct conversation with Allah

Prayer contacts you by Allah.  The Arabic term for prayer is (As-Salah) it is derived from the Arabic word that denotes connection to Allah.

The Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) said: When any one of you stands to pray, he is communicating with his Almighty Allah, so let him pay attention to how he speaks to Him. Don’t sever this relationship with your Creator.

Pray is a pillar of Islam

Prayer is the second most significant pillar of Islam and it is the most mandatory act in a Muslim’s life. It is an important ritual that must be completed daily despite of the difficult situations. In fact, Allah did not even exclude the Muslims from performing the prayers in battle! He says
Guard strictly your (habit of) prayers… If you fear (an enemy), pray on foot, or riding.

The prayers should be the pride of the pious man’s life that can improve his conditions in this life and the world hereafter.
